Food on the go with Snazzy Food Trucks !
The food business is a burgeoning industry with
Bangalore appeasing its globe-trotting citizens with food from every part of
the world in the form of Fine dine restaurants, Themed Cafes and the like.
The latest entrant being Food trucks, which in
essence is a “Kitchen on wheels” with visually appealing exteriors and
appropriate equipment catering to specific cuisines / eatables.
What makes for an impressive and efficient Food
Truck?
- The main factor is the Menu - the food that it offers. Everything from the designs on the Truck to the Internal layout and equipment, storage etc hinges on this prime factor.
- The dynamic designs on the Truck exterior is definitely a crowd puller. The apt Logo, graphics and tag line of the business in appropriate colors that reflect the food being sold is extremely important to attract customers.
- A judiciously planned layout and adequate
equipment is very essential for efficient working. The layout is similar to any
industrial Kitchen, albeit small in comparison. Preparation work table, Cooking
hob with chimney, Sinks for cleaning, Storage space for disposables, Equipment
like Fridge/Freezer, Oven etc, Garbage disposal and Generator for power are
essentials.
Adequate openings in the side of the truck as Order & Pick-up windows, Awnings or retractable roof covering for openings, sufficient lighting, prominently and attractively displayed menu, Easy to access ledges for disposables are other prerequisites.

- Go Waffles– for those who love things sweet and crisp. This truck’s design is as crisp as Waffles. Its Logo and Name in a contrasting red against its black backdrop and minimal graphics is impressive. The horizontal wide service window on the side & the thin tall rear opening is proportionate to the size of the truck.

- S.W.A.T food truck – serves American curb side
food. This truck projects its name in prominent, robust whit letters with an
apt tag line against a neutral black in a no-nonsense fashion. A swish of pale
yellow band helps enhance the sides.
A prominently displayed Menu, a small removable “ledge” holding essentials, a well lit interior and an awning welcomes its customers.
- Desi Adda – serves Fusion food of Indian, Thai and Continental. Indian colours of yellow and Orange reflect the “Desi” name. Playful punchlines cover the surface of the truck entertaining customers as they wait for their food. 3 wide service openings on the sides and rear reflect the open hearted nature of Indians towards their guests.
- The rolling Chef – serves multi cuisine. The truck reflects a sunny disposition with its main colours of Orange and yellow. Graphics are delicate with food related images interspersed into its logo. The single wide service opening is topped with a colour co-ordinated awning. The bottom hinged opening serves as a service counter making it an interesting detail. Minimalism rules the roost here.
