6 Fitting Pointers to Tranquil Bedrooms!



All I want is to crash out... How many times have we all said this to ourselves after a long day at work? Would it not be nice to retreat to one’s own haven – a Bedroom? It definitely would be, even better if the space is multifunctional.
Cruising through a few pointers that help make a space for one to unwind....


·       Effective Space Layout
- In keeping with a multifunctional essence, a bedroom can be used as an entertainment spot, a reading lounge, a work area and a hobby space apart from being a haven of rest.
- Positioning the bed away from windows helps restrict direct sunrays on it.
- Units like Wardrobes, Book shelves and Dresser ideally to be aligned along adjacent walls.
- An entertainment nook comprising of a TV or a Game console would be best opposite to the Bed or in case of a very large area in the space allocated for lounge seats.
- Window seats or comfortable arm chairs near a window make for excellent reading spots.
- A small table to work on is a good addition and would be preferable near window for natural light.



·       Wall, Floor and Ceiling Enhancers  
- A standard option of finishing walls is Paint. They can be plain or textured. Emulsion paint is a good option for its classy look and easy maintenance.
- Wall papers, 3D MDF boards, Tile and Stone cladding are some options that add depth and texture to Wall surfaces.
- Walls used as canvas to display personal memorabilia like photographs, artwork and trophies favours the intimate nature of the space.
- Vitrified tiles, Ceramic tiles and Natural stone flooring are hardy options, while Wooden flooring exudes a warm and cosy feel to the space.
- Paints, Wood cladding and Gypsum False ceiling help enhance Ceilings.

- Switches to the room should be positioned at arm’s length from the door for easy access on entry.
- Two way switches to one general light and fan is essential near the bed for ease of use.
- Bedside units to have sockets to plug in lampshades, chargers and any other necessary equipment.
- A couple of Sockets is essential for a Laptop, chargers and beauty equipment near Work table and Dresser.
- Switches to task lights for Work table and Dresser should ideally be close to the units.
