6 Prime Design Predictions for 2019!
A brand New year has rolled in bringing with it new
possibilities and refreshing trends. As we contemplate on our design goals for
the year 2019, we look at the larger Design world for inspiration. We share
with you today, few of our chosen aspects that are part of the design
predictions for 2019!
· Vivid Colours
- A warm palette to enliven the spaces we create is what we envision.
- Resonating with this thought, we choose to embrace Pantone’s colour of the year- “Living Coral” in different elements – in decor pieces, as a point of focus or in furnishing.
- Vibrant colour palette including Coral to create dynamic spaces.

Using pieces of heirloom handed down
through generations or items which will become family heirlooms as part of our
space decor.

Choosing these pieces to create a point
of focus to enhance the spaces we design.

Reusing traditional furniture pieces that echo
with the theme of project and in turn help sustain these units.
· Invigorating Decor

Adding softness to furniture units by
adopting organic lines and forms.

Incorporating Abstract singular art deco
paintings as decor pieces to elevate the ambience of an Interior space.

Treating Ceilings to create points of
focus in a space.
· Supporting Sustainability

Incorporating greenery in the form of
Indoor plants and integrating innovative Vertical gardens into a built
environment to help reduce pollutants and ensure the well being of its
inhabitants.

Endorsing use of Energy saving efficient
lighting systems comprising of LED or CFL light fixtures with Motion sensors,
Automatic timers and Infrared sensors.

Endorsing use of timber products from sustainable
tree plantations.
· Reviving Local Arts and Crafts

Including Bidriware metal work as artefacts in space decor, in turn creating an
awareness of these products.

Incorporating natural fabrics like
handlooms from local weavers in North Karnataka for general furnishing and
Silks for cushions or as wall decor pieces which will help sustain local
fabrics.

Using Navalgund Dhurries and rugs or
Tibetian Carpets as floor coverings or as statement art pieces in any space
helps promote Carpet weavers’ works.

Incorporating Ivory inlay work, wood and
stone carving as part of traditional furniture pieces or as artefacts to
support the work of such artisans.
· Embracing Smart Technology

Using apps that combine AI with virtual
reality to augment the quality and working time of projects.

Incorporating modern Automation
technology like Automatic control systems for Lighting and Heating,
Entertainment systems and Drapes and blinds to enhance comfort and convenience
of Space users.
